useful for matrix algebra

If you want to learn matrix algebra, Matlab can be a nice helper, as shown by this quick introduction. It covers the basic steps within Matlab. But en route, Daku has chosen many examples that manipulate matrices. You can see how Matlab will reduce a lot of the tedious manual grunge in such key operations as matrix inversion. The description of graphic output is rather abbreviated. It covers two dimensional graphs. Ironically, the pretty 3d figure on the cover is outside this purview.
