Keep It Near At Hand

When the going gets tough, I reach for this book. It's always near me. Richard has captured the concerns of every leader in a way that is simple yet power filled. Any time I get lost in my own failings or slip into a state of dispare over the way I handled a situation, I know where to go to find solice and comfort. Leadership Prayers helps to put me in touch with what God has in mind for me before I set out on my own. I hear rumors that Richard is working on another book. I'll be watching for it.

Proper perspective for Christian leaders

This book is the most thoughful and humble perspective on active leadership, and its corollary, active followership, I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Dr. Kriegbaum has nailed the balance between the leadership as an external driving force and the leader as a steward. Covering such subjects as Ownership, Delegation, Fear, Reality, Planning, Courage, Failure, Creativity, and Love, he hits all the buttons of those who have been there, but goes on to memorialize the proper perspective which lifts us from mere competence to wisdom. Though his specific situation as a University President is somewhat rarified, his observations are equally applicable to those of us who run a business, or a classroom, or a family. This is very beneficial reading.

Extremely inspirational and encouraging support for leaders.

This book is full of prayers and reflections for those in true top leadership positions. Every chapter/prayer was a solid reminder I needed to hear as I lead the Christian organization I'm involved with. I have used it with my senior staff and we have all found it to very inspirational, freeing us, encouraging us to be the best leaders we can be for the Kingdom of God.The reflections after each prayer are so applicable and practical that I found them very useful.
