A great contribution to the field of leadership development

This book provides an excellent historical perspective on the evolution of leadership theory and application. It provides simple but useful models for considering the state of leadership in complex and rapidly changing organizations. The authors not only provide useful information about the subject but add their own personal experience operating in corporate enviroments. The book has an effective balance between theory and practice.I particularly like the notion of the Leader Coach---a concept that will come of age in the 21st century.Thank you Carol and Susan for your efforts on behalf of us practitioners in the field of leardership development.

At last a coaching book that truly resonates

I read Leadership Alchemy from cover to cover within a few days. That is not normal for me - I usually have 10 good books in progress at any one time and jump all over the place. Leadership Alchemy is just the resource I've been waiting for. Throughout the past two and a half years of my executive coaching, I've resisted doing what I call a 'vanilla' coaching course. After glancing through the workbook of a colleague who had attended such a course (and a major coaching academy at that) I thought "Is that all they think there is to coaching?" So for two and a half years I've just used my intuition and coached from who I am, my leadership experiences, my life experiences and what I stand for - and my clients seem to thrive. Leadership Alchemy ties leadership practice with coaching practice and will resonate with both leaders and coaches. When I read a useful tip in a book, I tag it.
