A couple of American tourists and their children visit Zakouma National Park. Enchanted, they discover the Republic of Touma the splendid posture of the summit of Abtouyour, the graceful queen of Gu ra in a reclining position. But on the path leading to the Ounianga lakes, the family is kidnapped by a commando. Here, a child is abducted by an armed group and forcibly enlisted in a rebellion before being taken prisoner. Not far from there, a man who died in poverty receives a funeral of insolently exuberant wealth. A little further on, a man is having a romantic relationship with a young woman, each day bringing its share of surprises. Meanwhile, next door, a young man finds himself entangled in a criminal case. The short story writer offers us here five short texts which, beyond the sometimes tragic but often comical plots, recount the experiences of men and women in a country that we can easily identify with.

Le nouvelliste nous offre ici, cinq textes courts, qui, au-del des intrigues parfois tragiques, mais souvent cocasses, racontent le v cu des hommes et des femmes dans un pays que l'on pourra ais ment reconna tre.
