A Very Useful Source

I truly like this well-written, concise guide because of its logical, simple approach to achieve and maintain natural health and fitness. Layman Thomas presents convincing reasons for eating natural foods and using natural products for a variety of other healthful purposes. He also provides a workable exercise program to follow twice a week. So far, I have found the natural foods and recipes I've tried to be quite delicious. Lifting light weights slowly is producing results I can see and feel. The suggested homemade solutions made from natural ingredients do alleviate common ills like a sore throat and even clean furniture without toxic substances! As promised, the useful information in this book is helping me to be fit and healthy "naturally."

Time Tested

For all those who have tried the latest diets and workouts but can't seem to follow the exhuastive laundry list of instruction this is the book you need. Layman Thomas brings everything back to the basics. No gimmics, high protein, low carb, put it back on after you lost it diets here or workouts that strain and infuriate you. This book expounds a way of life--for a lifetime. What Layman Thomas lays out is a simple approach to living a lifestyle of health. But if you like a lot of instructions and counting then I think the next new fad diet just hit the internet--oh wait you missed it we are on to the next one already. Seriously, this is a straighforward, simple to follow book on how to implement a philosophy of healthy living into your own life. Get it.

The most usefult book I've found thus far

I have read many good health and nutrition books over the years, and have put to use many of the things I've learned. What stands out about Layman Thomas is the way in which he brings together such a wide variety of important topics for the reader, in such a slim, easy-to-read volume. This breadth of coverage would normally require several books, but here it's all brought together, nice and simple! I really recommend this book.

Concise Advice

I was pleasantly surprised with the conciseness of this book. It went right to the point of each of the author's recommendations on nutrition, exercise and healthy environment. It gave specific ingredients and recipes for nutrition and provided illustrations for the recommended exercises. The author passes on to the reader the best of his studies and experiences over 30 years. I have followed the latest in published nutritional wisdom, but have learned from this book several new items to try. An easy read.

Uncommonly Good Sense On How To Live A Healthy Life

This is a powerful and persuasive distillation of wisdom on the basic things a sensible person needs to lead a balanced and healthy life. Layman Thomas reminds me of Ben Franklin's Poor Richard, a figure steeped in perennial wisdom and a common sense which has almost disappeared from our society. People who find it difficult to follow all the fluctuating and confusing health advice which inundates us every day should find this book a refreshing and trustworthy guide. It is written for the long term; it makes sense; it's relatively simple, and it's working for me.
