mer, a fifty-year-old waiter in Istanbul's Kadık y district, lives a quiet life shaped by routine, solitude, and unresolved grief over his father's mysterious death. His predictable existence changes when a shift on a luxury yacht cruise leads him to B y kada, the largest of the Princes' Islands.
There, he meets Leyla, a young woman who gives him a bouquet of lavender. The scent awakens an extraordinary ability in mer: he can hear the unspoken thoughts of others and sense emotional imprints lingering in places and objects. Guided by this unsettling gift, he ascends to Hagia Yorgi Church, where he is overwhelmed by the accumulated voices and memories of past pilgrims.
