One-Stop Shop

I have participated in several college prep/ college info sessions over the years and the very best of what those workshops have to offer is encapsulated in this excellent book. I call the book a one-stop shop for anyone who has anything to do with U.S. Latinos and the U.S. higher education system. Every topic is covered in a straightforward and cogent manner. And if you like personal anecdotes of the Latino collegiate experience well then you'll love that this book has plenty of true-to-life personal accounts from Latino students. With this book we see that, yes, "sí se pudo", and "sí se podrá".

Essential for Latino H.S. Students

Wow,impressive book for any high school student but especially for Latinos, and their parents as well. Ms. Dabbah hasn't missed a thing - , how to do it, how to finance it, biblios, references, how not to do it, etc. As a college counselor, I would recommend this book for a class. Students will be inspired & save lots of time just using this research.

Great book for HS students thinking about college

This book is really terrific for High School students thinking about college. There is lots of practical advice that will give Latino students a leg up on getting into school and being successful once they get there. The author brings together useful information from lots of sources that would be hard to find on your own. An absolute must for anyone headed to college!!

Latinos in College

I gave this book to my niece that is in H.S. and she loved it! This book is a wonderful and useful guide to help Hispanic students not just get into college but succeed. It offers very practical information as well as a good dose of inspiration as the author quotes many Latino students who overcame many obstacles to make it to college and many extremely successful Latino professionals.
