An invaluable SQL reference

This is a great book to begin to understand how to write queries for databases in SQL. It starts off with the simple queries, and moves onto the more advanced commands that are used for maintaining databases.It is a simple and clear text, and has been an invaluable source whilst creating databases and writing code to interact with these databases.

Updated version of the book is available

For an updated verion of this great book by the same authors, look at SQL: The complete Reference - from Osborne. Most of the content is the same as the old book with about 300 pages of new material.

The best SQL book yet

This book is five years old and there are many SQL books in the market. Yet this book is unbeatable. Its scope and clarity set it clearly apart. Do not miss this book. A computer book which remains a leading one years after years in such a hot area as SQL and RDMS must be a great book. And this one is.

I must say that this book is the best for a person who has no experience with SQL. It provides you with all the knowledge needed in working in a database programming environment and gets you on your way real quick.
