Just like time travel

Chadwick’s detailed descriptions of what Empress Matilda’s journey to secure what she called her God Given right is amazing! I could feel the anger, frustration, fear and other emotions jumping off the pages! It brought color and empathy to a historical woman who almost claimed the English throne all the way without needing a marriage to make her the ultimate rule. If I could rewrite history I would love for her to succeed! What a fantastic novel.
