Kody happily has many friends, but he wonders about Sunny who lives on the other side of his fence. The white markings on her neck make him curious, so he asks her what they mean. Sunny tells him that she is a Mustang who lived with her family running free until she was captured. That's when humans put markings on her neck. He can't imagine living free with no fences and he wants to know more. Each night Kody and Sunny meet over the fence where Sunny tells Kody her story. Kody listens wholeheartedly, his friendship provides comfort and a feeling of safety to Sunny.
