The Wild World of Wrestling

Soledad Monroe has spent her life rebelling against her very rich family. With seven ex-husbands and no job to her credit, her mother wants Soledad to learn responsibility and stay away from the altar. The way they have decided to give "America's Daughter" a new outlook on life is to employ her as a reporter for one of their magazines. Her assignment is to interview and write a story on the reclusive wrestler, Casanova. Casanova has a reputation to live up to with the ladies. His signature move is to kiss a woman who is planted in the audience and ask her to marry him after a match. His fans eat this up and he has plenty of willing participants. That is, until he kisses the wrong woman one night and gets slapped. The woman happens to be Soledad, the reporter there to do a story on him and the Wrestlebowl. There is an instant attraction between the two of them neither wants to admit. She's been burnt by love and he by publicity. Once she catches a glimpse of the real man underneath, Soledad works at learning more about him. Unfortunately, she uncovers in the wild world of wrestling, a lot of things are really not as they seem. Crystal Bright has written an engaging read which dives into the sport of professional wrestling and adds a little spice to make it tingle. KISSING CASANOVA is well-written with characters who take on real life appeal. Bright even managed to add a little suspense to this love story that kept me flipping the pages. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. Reviewed by Brenda Lisbon of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

KISSING CASANOVA is an unexpectedly charming tale that will worm its way into the readers' hearts

Spoiled socialite Soledad Monroe has lived her life in the public eye. It doesn't help matters any that she's used getting married as an act of rebellion against her parents - seven times. To teach her responsibility, Soledad's parents have insisted that she work as a journalist at one of their magazines. She doesn't mind working, but couldn't they give her a better subject than a wrestler. Casanova is a very popular wrestler with a dislike for journalists. He's managed to keep his personal life completely hidden from the public and that's the way he'd like to keep it. Unfortunately his shtick for asking planted women in the audience to marry him has garnered him a lot of attention. The owners of the wrestling company have arranged for a reporter to spend a week getting to know him and write an expose article. Casanova had no idea he was kissing the wrong woman so he was stunned when he was slapped. Fortunately he played it off for the audience and made it appear to be part of the act. Soledad is horrified by the kiss - not because she was kissed, but because of the publicity that would be a direct result. She's supposed to write the story, not become part of it. Backstage, once they're formally introduced, Casanova continues playing the role he's perfected over the years, but Soledad is not impressed. She thinks he's gorgeous (despite the fact that he wears tights) but she's been around enough men to be able to tell when she's being played and it's obvious that Casanova's whole persona is all an act. Once he allows her to see the man behind the performer, Soledad realizes that there's much more to him than just the wrestler. His real life and personality are much more interesting. KISSING CASANOVA is an unexpectedly charming tale that will worm its way into the readers' hearts. Crystal B. Bright uses characters that you'd normally think of only in a celebrity status and allows us to get to know them as normal people - flaws and all. I adored Casanova's protective nature which could be felt throughout the storyline. Soledad reminds me of the Hilton sisters - the world is one big playground full of parties and shopping. At some point you have to grow up though, and throughout this book you watch as Soledad takes her first tentative steps into adulthood and independence. I have to admit that I love Casanova's friend and fellow wrestler, Monk. He's a truly sweet character and wonderful friend to both Casanova and Soledad. I'd love to know more about him. KISSING CASANOVA is Ms. Bright's debut book at New Concepts Publishing where she'll have several more books published in the near future. Chrissy Dionne (courtesy of Romance Junkies)

I was pleasantly surprised.

I won't give away any plot. It wasn't just your usual erotica book. It was well-written, interesting, exciting, unusual and a page-turner. I was drawn in and I cared about the characters. It was a great book. I was pleasantly surprised. Crystal B. Bright is a very talented writer. I highly recommend this book to others interested in interracial romances with a twist.

What a good read

As a professional wrestler, Casanova proposes to a woman before every show, after kissing her silly. Then he turns her down when she accepts his proposal. It's all a gag, and the woman is a plant. The audience knows it, loves it, and his bosses expect it. When reporter Soledad Monroe is brought to the professional wrestling match to interview the reclusive Casanova, he mistakes her for the planted woman he is supposed to kiss. Although she's not the usual type that they pick out , he plays it up good for the audience. She slaps him for the affront, and the fireworks begin! While Soledad is known to the tabloids as "America's Daughter" because her family is well-known and wealthy, her real claim to fame is that she has been married seven times. After her last disastrous marriage, she is not planning on repeating the mistake of love. This reporting job is her attempt to establish herself as a responsible adult to her family, who has threatened to cut her off financially if she doesn't finish this assignment. Soledad is supposed to stay with Casanova for a week to complete this exclusive interview for her magazine, but how can she stay with someone who disrespects women and disrespects himself, by continuing to demean them just for a job? As Soledad gets to know the real Casanova, the developing attraction between them is only matched by the secrets that Casanova tries to keep from her and the world. Lies, treachery, and misunderstandings deepen the mystery as Soledad tries her best to keep from Kissing Casanova. From the first hot, steaming kiss between Soledad and Casanova, to the last surprising page, Kissing Casanova kept me frantically turning pages to find out what was going to happen next! My heart fell, rose, and then fell again, and my libido got more of a workout than the wrestlers in the ring did. I was surprisingly pleased that I was drawn into the gritty, sweaty world of professional wrestling and came out with a satisfied smile. What a good read! Cassidy Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed
