Kiss me Kill me

Title: Kiss Me Kill Me Yes! Have you ever imagined that you got to kiss a boy that you have wanted to kiss since the first grade, and now that you are in the 10th grade you are dyeing to kiss those wonderful lips. Well in this book a girl named Scarlett gets to kiss her favorite guy but when she does it he falls over and dies. Can you just picture that the guy that you have wanting to kiss has fallen over and dies. Well this happens to Scarlett and she doesn't know whether or not she will ever be able to trust herself with a boy ever again. I you think this sounds like a good book to you than you should read it cause I thought it was one of the best books I have ever read so you should totally check it out!!!!!!

I felt so bad for Scarlett in this book. The girls at her old school are still calling her a murderer and the teachers at her new school-which is run by her grandmother- aren't nice to her either. They are even harder on her because her grandmother runs the school. Her parents are dead and her two friends she did have won't talk to her because Scarlett ditched them to hang out with the popular kids at her old school. So Scarlett is basically along in the first part of the book and you feel bad for her. She is scared to kiss another boy in the fear that he will drop dead like Dan did. So when she meets Jase, the groundskeeper at her new school she is scared to get close to him. And she finally gets a new friend, a girl in school named Taylor that is helping her find out who really killed Dan. But then she book totally switched gears and turns into a mystery. It leaves you wanting the next book to see who the killer is and to see where Scarlett and Jase's relationship goes after Scarlett learns she isn't the 'kiss of death' girl. The second book is called kisses and Lies and that review will be next.

Absorbing and just plain fun!

Reading Kiss Me Kill Me is like unwrapping a candy bar; it just keeps getting better, and I was a little sad--not to mention annoyed--when I finished it and my candy bar/book was gone--which didn't take very long. The mystery of Dan's death is a strong component of the novel, and the suspense kept me turning the pages. Kiss Me Kill Me, however, is more than the mystery that dominates the plot. Lauren Henderson neatly integrates romance, friendship, the importance of getting to know people rather than forming quick judgments, and even body issues--Scarlett is a gymnast. Rather than feeling forced, however, these elements deepen the story and even make it feel more realistic. The two settings of the novel--London and the glittering world of the St. Tabby's in crowd, and Wakefield Collegiate, a school set in a former sprawling Victorian estate--are fascinating. I enjoyed exploring both locations. As an added bonus, both Henderson (author) and Scarlett (character) are British, which makes for an interesting point of view of London as well as of American culture and a certain American character. My only significant complaint is that the mystery remains unsolved at the book's rather crowded closing because it's the first in a series. And I want to know whodunnit now! But I'm willing to suck it up and wait; the second book, Kisses and Lies (Scarlett Wakefield Series), has been out in the world since January 2009, and I'm looking forward to reading it. Any other flaws are minor and easily overlooked. To sum it up, Scarlett is a likeable heroine and a wonderful first person narrator: funny and dramatic in all the right places. Kiss Me Kill Me is absorbing and just plain fun.

Lauren Henderson has created yet another character that is fantastically fun a worth reading. Kiss Me Kill Me is about a young orphaned girl and her life at trying to fit in. Scarlet spends her high school days with her two best friends and doing gymnastic, when out of the blue to popular kids ask her to hang out. She dumps her friends for a shot at being popular and ends up kissing a boy who dies on the spot. She is kicked out of the house she is living in, she is kicked out of school, and she is forced to move back in with her grandmother (who runs a private girls school). Once at the school she decides to figure out what happened to Dan. The murder mystery is a fun read that ends wrapping up just enough to make you want to read the sequel (which is coming out this January). Lauren Henderson knows how to write a riveting story that keeps you wanting more ... even after you have finished the story.

I loved this book so much!!

It was so well-written and exciting, I really enjoyed it. Scarlett is such a great character and I kept wanting to know what was going to happen to her next. There were lots of twists and turns, and though it was really sad that Dan died, I got caught up in the mystery straight away and am really psyched to find out where things are going to go with her and Jase. I thought it was very interesting that when her whole life gets turned upside down, she starts to find out who she is for the first time. And the boys are super-sexy - Jase is really hot! I'm sure he's going to come back in the sequel and I can't wait!
