This story is about a couple of friends, Kate and Buck, who share a common addiction: risk taking. Sometimes life can seem to be a gamble. The mere struggle of life entices many to cut corners and take unnecessary chances. Kate and Buck have no goals or plans. Gradually, they sink lower into darkness and despair. Life is merely happening to them with no rhyme or reason. By chance, or is it predetermined, they encounter an evangelist who provides them with a message. Nevertheless, they continue to shirk their civic and moral responsibilities to assist those less fortunate and eventually they become the very people to whom they despise. This spirit of rebellion brings them to the depth of despair. It is at this low point in their lives that they read and internalize God's message to them and begin the change. With faith, they now possess a different focus about what life means, and can use their God-given talents to ease the suffering of others through their testimony and witness. God is never changing: always the same. When we patiently wait upon The Lord and His plans for our life, we show true loyalty to Him and His desires for our happiness. Even while we are separated from Him by our disobedient lifestyles, He still loves us. It is not God who moves away from us, but we who move steadily away from Him. The chosen who God calls are not able to resist Him. His effectual call never goes unheard by the ones He has chosen. The chosen eventually become righteous through the regeneration process. For some, the regeneration process is immediate, others it is slow and gradual, or in between. Rest assured no matter how, transformation is occurring. Kate and Buck realize after a period of time that they are no longer the people they were before. They begin to have a grateful appreciation for the present. Kate and Buck realize that the past has been blotted out; they do not dwell upon the past. Their focus is the present realization that the time they have is more valuable than anything else they could possess. Believe it or not God has predestined us for great things. When we align ourselves with the predetermined purpose of God 's intent for our life, life becomes meaningful. Each of us should possess the Spirit of Thanksgiving with a mindset of humble gratitude. Enjoy the Buck and Kate saga
