The return of my favorite characters

I loved the characters featured in this series. Seeing characters from the previous books be featured as the main characters was a great experience as I loved seeing the strong women characters who were in charge of their destinies. I loved the love stories as they were predictable but slightly unexpected. There wasn't a ton of foreshadowing on the pairings and they were not consummated or obvious in this book which made it feel more realistic as I feel most love stories move too fast. I think the pacing was good to keep the reader engaged and it was nice to have the main characters not fixated on their love interest. I enjoyed seeing the mourning process of one of the characters as I related to the long grieving while still moving forward with life.
