Spinal Health

I truly believe that a child's (or adult's) spine should be addressed as part of their overall health. As any chiropractor will tell you - and you can see for yourself, _everything_ runs through the spine. It makes sense that a misalignment would cause problems. While I believe in Dr. Ressel's thoughts on chiropractic care, I found Dr Ressel's writing style a little harsh for my tastes. The reason I didn't give this book a 5 was because I don't think he is helping his cause by calling the established medical practitioners quacks. I think there is room in the medical office for both forms of medicine to work in tandem.

Real healthcare!

Every parent should read this. Dr. Ressel is inspirational; his book causes you to think! He and MANY chiropractors avoid vaccination...and I get it...drugs are not the answer to everything!

for the reader from ontario who complaint

This is a great book with lots of great new insights of alternative health care emphasis. For the reader from ontario who complaint about the idea of non-vaccination, and for being contra-chiropractic, i suggest you read these books as well: (1) WHEN HEALING BECOMES A CRIME by Kenny Ausubel, (2)VACCINATION AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS - A REVIEW OF THE CONTROVERSYby Greg Wilson. Foreword by Harris L. Coulter, Ph.D.; (3) CHILDHOOD VACCINATION: Questions Every Parent Should Askby Tedd Koren, D.C.; (4) VACCINES: ARE THEY REALLY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE? A Parent's Guide to Childhood Shotsby Neil Z. Miller, George Schwartz M.D., etc.; (5) CHIROPRACTIC AND SPINAL RESEARCH: 2000 Editionby Tedd Koren, D.C.

The first health book that's actually fun to read.

Dr. Ressel does a terrific job at addressing kid's illnesses from bed wetting to ear infections to growing pains and A.D.D. He surprised me with his stories of treatments that actually got rid of the symptoms and even mentioned folk remedies like cooked onions placed on the ear to alleviate ear aches. He has a witty style that makes a serious subject entertaining to read. Every person who is dealing with children's illnesses or wants to prevent sickness should read this book. It is a great statement on the need for chiropractic care as well and should be in every practicioners waiting room.
