Keisha is an exotic dancer in Southern California's Inland Empire who owns a home and is raising her son, Jamaal, on her own. As far as she's concerned, the only good thing her son's father, Derrick, ever did was giving her Jamaal and introduce her to the joy of snorting powder cocaine.
Keisha and her best friend, Tanya, are functioning drug addicts who are also addicted to money and men.
Tanya meets Delano, an ex-NFL player who owns a car dealership, and they hit it off so well, they decide to introduce Keisha to Delano's brother, Rashaad.
Keisha and Rashaad fall for each other, and it makes Keisha reconsider going back to school to become a nurse, because she knows her beautiful body won't hold up forever, and she doesn't want to strip into her 30s.
During the courtship and decision-making process, Keisha and Tanya have a verbal confrontation with Lionel and Trent at a club. Unbeknownst to the ladies, the men were officers, and they took revenge on Derrick one night and sent a message to him for Keisha and Tanya.
A couple of months later, they beat Derrick and left him for dead. But the revenge isn't because of what Keisha and Tanya did at the club, it's because one of the officers is a jilted lover and one of the men the women are dating is on the down-low, and the only way to keep it that way is murder, by way of the streets.
