Just My Luck!

By Devon Layne

Experience a witty, unconventional short drama in Just My Luck , the story of Cal Levin-a man whose life seems cursed by misfortune until fate, and a mischievous author, intervene. Cal's journey begins with a string of bad luck: childhood illnesses, a disastrous marriage, and a career that never quite takes off. But when his wife files for divorce at the worst possible moment, Cal's accountant instincts kick in, and he outsmarts her at her own game.

Just as Cal thinks he's hit rock bottom, he's swept into a whirlwind of corporate intrigue, embezzlement, and sabotage. Along the way, he's killed-literally-only to wake up with a new identity, a new look, and a second chance at life. As he uncovers financial crimes threatening a major development project, Cal finds himself entangled with two remarkable women, a powerful construction company, and a plot that could change his luck forever.

Told with sharp humor and a meta twist-where the protagonist spars with his own author-Just My Luck is a fast-paced drama about resilience, reinvention, and the unpredictable turns of fortune. Will Cal's luck finally change, or is he doomed to be the author's favorite punching bag? Find out in this clever, character-driven tale where bad luck might just be the best thing that ever happened.
