His freshman year girlfriend, Ellie, two years older, didn't seem to mind that lack at all, especially when he was able to rescue her from an attempted gang rape. His sophomore year he met Audrey Lyle and the two fell very much in love. But Audrey's brother Ed was a lawman, with criminal enemies, and those enemies struck at Audrey for their revenge. Police investigation provided no proof, so Ron and Ed constructed a plan to trap the criminal into a confession. The plan wasn't foolproof; Ron was almost killed, but justice was achieved. About twenty years later Ron discovered something about Audrey that was almost unbelievable...and wonderful.
