A great boy book!

This easy reader is fun to read. George, the main character, overcomes obstacles and the "villains" to reach his goal of winning the local contest. While the girls are determined to shut him out, he triumphs in the end. Easy to read, and a great book about self-esteem, what to do when you're the "odd man out" and being the "bigger person." Not preachy or didactic. And the price is perfect! It's been added to Scholastic's Read 180 program for struggling readers in many elementary schools.
