Journey to India: Mystical Synchronicities

By Roger Cantu

Some journeys take you across the world. The truest ones bring you home. When a friend hands Alex a photograph of a mysterious Indian holy man, the pull is immediate and inexplicable-less a gift than a summons. He is a college student with $300 to his name and no way to reach the ashram half a world away. Then the money arrives, unbidden, and Alex learns the first lesson on the path he is about to walk: when you are meant to go, the way opens. So begins a pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam, the ashram of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, where Alex expects to sit at the feet of the teacher he crossed the world to meet. Instead, he is turned away-and set loose onto a stranger, deeper road. Guided by a palm-leaf manuscript inscribed centuries before his birth, by a wandering storyteller who speaks of the Great Goddess, and by a chain of mystical synchronicities too precise to be chance, Alex is drawn toward a presence he never went looking for: the Divine Feminine-ancient, fierce, and intimate-waiting to remake him from the inside out. What follows is a season of transformation: prophecy and fever, devotion and doubt, a mantra whispered in a language he does not know, and a goddess who answers when he finally calls. Set against the dust, heat, and shimmering mystery of India, "Journey to India: Mystical Synchronicities" is a novel about the moment when the seeking turns inward, and the seeker discovers that the farthest journey and the way home are the same road. For readers of "Siddhartha," "The Celestine Prophecy," and "Eat, Pray, Love," here is a luminous debut about surrender, awakening, and the quiet intelligence that shapes a life when we learn to trust it.
