For decades, Briarwood has lived a lie. They said Jones Jepsen was gone. They said the nightmare had ended. They were wrong. When a strange man finds a tattered top hat and decides to put it on, he discovers his soul is being transferred into the ghost of Jones Jepsen. As the killings begin again, one thing is horrifyingly clear. Jones Jepsen isn't back from the dead. He never left.
I had to read this. I read the other two, so I had to finish Jones' story. Jones is honestly the ghoul you love to hate. Though, I felt sorry for him. He was dealt a bad hand in life that followed him into death. I have to admit I'll miss him and his carnival mallet.
There seems to be slightly less in the blood and gore department than in the other two books, but the storyline itself is mostly solid. There's a handful of moments I found myself slightly confused, but none of it was detrimental to reading speed or pacing of the story.
There's a few more of Mr. Cabrera's books I've had my eye on and with Jones resting as well as he can, it might be time to pick some of those up while I wait to see what new terror this author comes up with.
