Jack in a Box

By Angela C Nurse

A Scottish detective mystery that opens with a murder inside the family: a rookie investigator inherits an agency and a case nobody wants solved. Small-agency PI crime with a decades-old disappearance, a single-mother sleuth and a town full of closed mouths.

Who Do You Trust When Everyone Has A Secret.

When single mother Rowan McFarlane joins her Uncle Jack's detective agency, she doesn't expect his murder to be her first case. To find out who's responsible for his death, she'll need to solve another mystery first: the disappearance of Jack's best friend thirty years earlier.

Someone doesn't want her digging up the past, and they're prepared to go to any lengths to stop her. Now Rowan has to weigh the case against the safety of her daughter, knowing that whoever silenced Jack is still close enough to be watching.

Jack in a Box is the first Rowan McFarlane detective mystery, for readers who love family-run agencies, cold-case disappearances and single-parent sleuths. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, LJ Ross and Marion Todd.

"A brilliant debut, tightly plotted with characters you already feel you know" - Marion Todd"
