Unforgetful, even after more than 10 years, still love it!

This book left a lasting impression on my young, idealistcally romantic mind. I loved the stubborn pride of the young heroine, and the love story is so sensous in its sparseness and the setting (gloomy Cumberland) provides a perfect backdrop for the drama and tragedy.
