Love Is In The Air

In "It's All Good" the story begins with Gia's mom, Gwen, and her Aunt Elena trying to convince her to not only participate in a purity class, but to encourage girls from school to join. While she believes that the class is a good idea, she's doubtful that any of the girls in her grade will fit the requirements. If that wasn't enough pressure, now the whole school, including her closest friends, seem to be bugging her about her and Ricky. They're just friends, as far as she knows, though she can't deny that something is different about them. Valerie, the school's bully, is still in a bad mood about losing out on homecoming queen. Susan Chiang, the winner, is now on the receiving end. Valerie claims it isn't her who is doing it, but it doesn't make it look good when all of the attacks are coming from Valerie's Facebook account. I liked this book because it deals with cyber bulling. Be careful about who you meet on the internet because you never know who is out there. Reviewed by: Marshae

You Give Me Butterflies...

By now, readers have come to love Gia Stokes. It took awhile, but the mouthy, witty teenager is morphing into who she truly is. She's no longer feeling a need to impress others, sneak around or lie. Best friend Ricky Freeman is making it hard for her to see him just as her BFF. His hotness is the business and no matter how she tries to deny it, she wants more than a friendship. Is Ricky feeling the same and if so, why is he acting weird? While studying for the SAT's and participating in a purity club, Gia finds herself caught in the center of a "craptastrophe." Valerie, Hi-Stepers co-captain, is being accused of cyber bullying. While she's adamant that she isn't the culprit, no one in the school seems to believe her except for Gia. When Gia finds out the truth, being labeled a snitch scares her into thinking that maybe she should leave it alone. If that wasn't enough drama, Sasha Cohen, a friend, is dating. While others may see Sasha's boyfriend, Chase, as a hottie, Gia has sensed his true side. What she knows is dangerous, but Sasha is in love. Is it possible for Gia to help everyone else as she tries to figure out what's going on with her and Ricky? IT'S ALL GOOD by Nikki Carter is such an informative read. I love that the book still remains true to its core characters while introducing situations that teens are forced to deal with. I love this series. As a mom, cousin, aunt and friend, I recommend this series to all.
