My family just finished reading "It was the Goodness of the Place" by Lucinda Dixon Sullivan and we loved it. Riveting from start to finish and set in a fictional town in Kentucky, the book focuses on the power of love to enthrall, captivate, sustain or destroy. Her characters find themselves caught up in events that change their world. Ms. Sullivan gives her characters vivid and compelling inner lives as each tries to make sense of the inexplicable tragic event that binds them together. Murder or suicide? A madman has the answer. "Place" may be the key to redemption for some but for others it may seal their fate. A wonderful writer has just made her debut with "It was the Goodness of the Place"
prose as poetry

Lucinda Dixon Sullivan is a spectacular writer.Where has she been? Her story is moving, well writen and perfectly paced. It is one of the books you do not want to end. The charcters in the book are varied and real. While she has her own style it is unmistakably southern but it is the story itself that grips you.
