If you hold a squat at ninety degrees, you'll get strongest at that ninety-degree angle. There's also something fascinating happening with your nervous system. Isometric training is excellent at improving what we call neuromuscular efficiency. Basically, your brain gets better at telling your muscles to fire together in a coordinated way. This mind-muscle connection becomes stronger, which means you'll be able to generate more force even without your muscles getting bigger.
