Dream of reconciliation

His father was a muslim, his mother a Jew, he became a Christian and lives in a community of reconciliation in Jerusalem. It seems that he is qualified to have sth to say for reconciliation. Another Mahatma Ghandi, who thought that Nazi Germany could be defeated by passive resistance? The command of Ahimsa would convince the Nazis and henceforth the Jews could live save in Europe! I fear that muslims cannot follow ahimsa by definition of their credo. The author does not clearly point out that the three Islam, Israel and the Church do not go together or that it is irrational to believe it would. This is the great question after reading the book. Rebiai believes strongly that Ismael which are for him the arabs will once reconcile with Isaac, which is Israel. He says that the muslims have to accept that Israel was given to Israel, the Jews, that both will be on the olive tree. And for that God must destroy the jail of Islam which is in culture and tradition. The big question is when God will do this. That is indeed the question. It would be very featherbrained to assume that we were anything but far away in the islam world that muslims turn away from their belief to favour reconciliation with Israel, to accept that it was Isaac who God favoured and not Ismael. But what is the role of the Church? It is a common belief under so called Christians that the blessings the God of the Bible gave to Israel and the promises he made went over to the "Church". That was one reason why the Vatican did not like the thought of Jews returning to Palestine. And the Pope ^Pius XII was not ashamed to tell this President Roosevelt, that such a project should not be supported. He wrote: "I f a Hebrew Home is desired, it would not be too difficult to find a more fitting territory than Palestine. With an increase in the Jewish population there, grave, new international problems would arise." The Catholic church has taken for Rome the titles that God gave to Jerusalem: a city of God, eternal city, holy city. In 1904, the year of his death, Theodor Hertzl, founder of the modern Zionist movement, recorded in his diary that he had asked Pope Pius X for help in establishing the Jewish settlers back in their land. He records that the pope replied: "We cannot prevent the Jews from returning, but we could never condone it!" This although in the Bible God says that this is the land he gave to Israel for ever and that he will bring them back to their country after he distributed them all over the world. Here one can see how much so called Christians take notice of what the Bible says. And it seems that they are exploited by the enemies of the God of Israel. But who can believe in prophecies? Better watch the facts! In 1919, Cardinal Pietro Gaspari, Secretary of State for the Vatican, confessed: "The thing that frightens us the most is the creation of a Jewish State in Palestine." Why? Because the claim of the Catholic church is that it is the only true Israel. But maybe the true

A very clear look at Islam, isreal and the chuch

I purchased this book via [...] after first finding it in Israel. My friend in Isreal personnally knows the author and said that it was an excellent book. Due to the constant changes going on in the Middle East this book offers deep insite into why there is a constant battle going on in Israel and what can be done to change the situation. Without understanding of both sides of the issue we can not help. This book will make you aware of the deep rooted problems in the Middle East and some of the best ways to solve these problems. The author has lived out what he proposes with great success. I would encourage anyone who wants to understand the Islam v Israel conflict to read this book. I also had the oppertunity to hear the authors personal testimony as he shared it with an aquaintence of mine. He turely desires to see peace in Jerusalem. This book is a must read for anyone wanting to help change the situation in Israel, America or anywhere Islam, Christanity or Judaism is practised.
