This book should be mandatory for high school and college graduates!

The book is very well written and employs the psychological concepts employed in persuasion and argument. Certainly, the most valued course I took in college. More importantly, this book is literally a survival guide to understanding and dealing with the barrage of information in your life. There is a strong focus on the recognition, analysis, and evaluation of the composition of communication in all forms: print, internet, and other platforms of media. You will enhance your ability to use critical thinking with conceptual tools, learned skills and strategies for making reasonable decisions about what to believe, or what to do in regard to information in you life. Everyone is trying to sell you something to buy or believe, whether it be the political system, corporate system, media or academia; understanding the concepts in this book will go a very long way to preventing the con-game through language and communication. Understanding language and how it is used to persuade others is critical to survival with our instant access to information. With the captains of industry so closely intertwined with government--what is real and what is an illusion? This book will help you wade through the muck of corruption and propaganda in the media. This book is so important, I will buy each of my sons this book and pay them $100 to read the book and write a summary of key concepts in each chapter when they fifteen years old. In my opinion, the best gift a parent can give, is the gift of critical thinking . . . why wait until it's an elective in college?
