intercession

This is a very good resource. Every chapter has multiple Bible refrences. It uses three chapters to make a better intercessor: general prayer, intercessing for people, intercessing for the coming of the Kingdom. Very good and helpful guide.

Scripture Study related to Prayer and Intercession

This is an excellent resource for either individual or group study on the topic of prayer, and particularly intercessory prayer. The opening three chapters relate to learning to prayer effectively through the three persons of the Holy Trinity. The second section of the book deals with the need to intercede for "God's people". Section three branches into what the author refers to as a "more cosmic view of intercession" - the need to prayer for the ultimate coming of God's kingdom, for the "battle" to win each heart for the Lord. Each of the book's nine unique studies focuses on a relevant scripture passage, including a reflection, a step by step study, tips for intercession, an optional memory verse and suggested group discussion question. Whether for use by a group or for individual study this book will be a great resource for examining the topic of intercessory prayer from the scriptural perspective.

Supersized Prayer

Each of the nine studies is based on a passage from scripture. The study opens with a reflection that is followed by step-by-step analysis of the passage with space for writing your own notes. Tips for intercession, an optional memory verse from scripture, and five questions for group discussion close out each study, which can be expected to take about an hour. The tips for intercession are varied and personal. For example, the author describes one woman's effort to "pray unceasingly," while working at a fast food restaurant. She had little success with formal prayers like the Hail Mary, but eventually found herself offering short intercessions for customers as she prepared their sundaes and milkshakes. The balance of serious examination of scripture passages in terms of intercessory prayer and these personal touches makes for a good workforce for use by groups.
