great book!!!

An Excellent book!!! Knowing the fact that I did not know whole lot about NT before reading it for my tellecom class I really grasped much knowledge. If you read entire book it should be enough for personal configuration and for further analysis O'reilly could help.

AWESOME! A complete reference!

As a Network Admin, people expect you to know everything about everything in the world of computers. Using this book as a reference makes people think you really do!

Excellent! Saved me everytime.

I am Steve Lohja, LAN Administrator at Modagrafics . I have a mixed network with MAC, PC, UNIX. We use NT as our Primary Network OS to tie everyone together. When ever I got stuck on something, like how to do this, implement that, ect... This book brought me out of it every time. Its laid out really good. I can find a subject and read it, without having to jump to other chapters to reference this, or review that. Its all right there. Real world examples on TCP/IP with visuals to walk you through setup's. A lot of diagrams. Everyone with NT should have this book.

Fantastic plain english resource of NT

Heywood has written a tremendous reference for people needing a quick answer in a sticky situation. Don't let the introduction fool you - this book CAN be read cover to cover. It isn't as dry and lifeless as the Microsoft NT manuals which makes understanding subjects that much easier. My only complaint with the book as a whole is the poor software included with the text, and the tendency to refer to the operating system as 3.51. Good book!
