Cameroon had just ratified the Interim Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union, while the performance of the Cameroonian economy was in sharp decline. This situation led the public authorities, in conjunction with the private sector, to seek the optimal solution that would enable the national economy to catch up through renewed competitiveness, allowing the country to continue its march towards emergence. This work consisted of using illustrations, benchmarking, and strategic analysis to show that innovation in a context of globalization is an effective tool for competitiveness in the economies of developed countries and, increasingly, in those of emerging countries. It could be so for the Cameroonian economy, given the country's abundant potential for innovation, provided that a number of measures are taken.
