The perseverance of the human spirit

To say this is simply a collection of images of mentally & physically handicapped people, would be to miss the point. This is a collection that shows the greatness of the human spirit as depicted in the acts of perseverance these men & women show confronting their personal challenges. The photographs are emotive, comforting, showing them struggling & raising to the challenge doing the things we so often take for granted like swimming, writing or simply taking a walk. Considering that, per the author's notes, these photos are all candid, were not cropped and made in available light, the overall result is one quite beautiful & emotive.
