Central to math education - maybe not central to yours

If you have gone through Baby Rudin and not looked at this then you are making a very BIG mistake since it is a great book. Inequalities (along with hoping we guess right and can take a limit) are fundamental. If none of this makes sense to you, move on. Otherwise, buy the book. It is elderly but very well written (as is all of Hardy's work).

What ?? Only one review (so far) for this classic?

A well written, classic text written by three larger than life math legends (Hardy, Littlewood, Polya). This is the definitive and monumental text on inequality -- the little angular symbols you see in all fields of mathematics -- from analysis to number theory to topology to combinatorics (i would say all fields of science but I am not a math apologist, mind you, so I would stay with those things I know something about).

This is one of the most important books of the century.

The authors are among the greatest mathematicians of this century. The contents of this book form the basis for countless applications of mathematics in economics, finance, engineering and physical sciences.
