Suprisingly Good

I absolutely can't stand the older Dark Horse Indy comics, but this one actually reads like a solid Indiana Jones film. Good dialogue and story....until the end. They drop the ball considerably with the ending...but it's only in the last four pages.

when it comes to graphic novels i'm pretty easy to please

i like INDY and enjoyed both sets of artists featured in this book . if i was permitted to i would give this book 3 1/2 stars out of five . i don't want to harm its rating by being petty and just give it 3 for subjective reasons . in the first three quarters of the book i was able to recognize actor DENHOLM ELLIOT as INDY's pal from university . that's pretty good illustrating . my minor quibbles would be that as a non-teen in my mid forties the story was a bit age inapproprite for me . additionally , i think it would be an excellent idea for the creative team to spread INDIANA's stories over 5 or 6 comic books so as to add more breadth and depth to the characters . i knew going in (with my purchase) that this was going to be a teen and perhaps a bit under friendly book . having said that , i'd just request greater length from future arcs . the story was quite good and fun and as i've stated i thought all the art was very good . if you have enjoyed other JONES books from the good people at DARK HORSE , don't hesitate to pick up this brisk , fun read . a sort of familiar comfort food .

Good story, but ...

This graphic novel is a compilation of the four comic books that were released under this name following '08's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". The story is really good, but, for some reason, Dark Horse changed artists for the fourth issue. So, the last fourth of this story looks WILDLY different from the rest of the story. Jarringly different. The female "lead" looked so different in the last section of this story that I did a double take to see if I were still reading the same story. For some reason, her nationality changed! I still give it four stars because of the quality of the story. And the artwork in part 4 is great, it just doesn't look like anything that preceded it.
