With a war on, people were being squeezed by rationing so The Boys overseas could survive the Nips and Nazis who had a head start toward their goal of conquering the world. Then, the murders started and Black found himself being sucked into the vortex against his will. Sometimes, you didn't get the easy ones. At least, he seldom did.
