A SINGLE WITH MYSTERY AND ROMANCE

Just a child's funny little quirk leads him and his babysitter into a bit of trouble. Trouble that seems to just keep escalating for both him and his mother. Robin Holt knows that her seven year old son does not lie. When Detective Matt Ridge comes to talk to him about the disappearance of his babysitter, Lisa Evans, he asks all but the right questions. Robin is upset for Lisa's mother but Taylor says nothing happened. Maybe the girl just ran away? The girl was missing - there was a body in the woods - who saw what? There appears to be a neat bonding between Taylor and Matt that makes Robin afraid for her son. Her lies keep causing confusion between her and Matt. Then The GBI want to take over the investigation. There are 2 attempted break-ins on Robin's house. Who was leaking information? Police chief Henry Dawkins was wondering if Matt could handle this case that involved a child. The next break-in brought two dead police officers of his department to add to the body count. And one perp. Whoa! Matt knew he had to get Robin and her son away from Mallory before those men found Taylor. And who shows up? Taylor's father, who has been the cause of Robin taking her son and running, four years ago. Except for the slow spots where the attraction of Matt and Robin are dwelt upon the pace is really good for the plot. The characters are easy to get to know - an thoroughly enjoyable read that was a bit hard to put down. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
