What are the concrete mechanisms of immigration in France ? How are the ebb and flow of migratory waves regulated ? Why do immigrants settle? What are the handicaps their children face in social advancement? Jack Lang and Herv Le Bras have combined the field knowledge of politics and the scientific rigor of demographers to dismantle the workings of immigration.
