Tell me again how you miss me when we're apart... I miss you more than you can know, and I think of you every minute of every hour. So begins the melodic and reassuring text of Sheryl Daane Chesnut's lullaby picture book, I'll Be There. From counting ten bare baby toes in the morning to snuggling up for a bedtime read, this inviting and gentle story is perfect for parents and children to share again and again. Celebrating all the little things that parents treasure about their children, combined with serene and playful watercolors, I'll Be There is a heart-warming look at the wonderful moments in a child's day and the parents who love each and every one of them.

The book is a pure delight!

The book is a pure delight! The English teacher in me loves the rich and vivid imagery. The grandmother in me is deeply touched by the truth and depth of the story's emotion. One of the most important qualities of this book is its universality, for it deals with feelings that all of us, young or old, need to share with each other.

I have a daughter who is 3 1/2 and a 10 month old daughter....my 3 1/2 year old is just discovering feelings and expressions. She is going through a phase where she says "i don't want to go to (school, or her gymnastics class or whatever)". She is starting to realize that when I take her somewhere she may be missing out on something at home. Or worse yet, that her baby sister might get to do somethng fun with me. I have started to read books to her that will help her recognize her emotions and to help her express them. "I'll be there" is great because I can read it to her and let her know that I am always thinking of her even when she isn't with me. Helping her to deal with her emotions helps her to deal with social situations. By talking to her and reading to her she is better able to be apart from me and know that i will always be there for her.The book is also great for children whose parents have to be away for extended periods of time. If parents read this book to them before a trip, the child can understand that the parent is always thinking about the child.I also really like the illustrations used in this book. I have given it as a gift to two friends and will continue to give it as gifts. Children love books, especially ones they can relate to!

"I'll Be There" is a delightful book. It speaks to children and adults and brings to mind the everyday events that are so special and need to be cherished and remembered. The illustrations which are a mixture of photography and watercolor painting are charming.
