Identity Defined by Love by Jenny McConnell explores identity and who God says we are as opposed to who the world may say we are.
Excerpt From Identity Defined by Love by Jenny McConnell:
"Bad things happen to good people and good things seem to happen to bad people and it's hard to understand why.
In Matthew 5:45, it mentions that our Father in Heaven causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good.
It also says in Romans 2:11, that God does not show favoritism. In Romans 3:23 it says, we ALL fall short of the glory of God.
In John 16:33, it says that in this world we will have trouble.
This is good news for everyone. We are all God's children and He loves us all equally. We can't earn His love or do anything to drive it away.
He loves us all and blesses us all. Calamity in our lives might encourage us back into the Father's arms or refine us and go even deeper with Him.
Either way, struggles and strife can be a good thing and there is hope for everyone to know the love of God in their lives.
For those who already know Jesus may experience many trials and refining to help them grow from glory to glory in Him.
Maturing in Him is one of our purposes and that can hurt, but He is here to help us through it. Read: Zechariah 13:9, 1 Peter 1:6 -7, Isaiah 48:10, Proverbs 17:3."
