Murdock Parnell had a bad experience during an earthquake. It left him with terrible nightmares. He has come to a cabin in the woods of Minnesota to rest his brain. His first day there Murdock meets Jeremy Galvin a little eight year old who's father died. Jeremy picks Murdock to be his dad, and he goes about making that happen in a eight year old way. Jeremy's mom Irene doesn't see things her sons way. Soon Murdock finds he is in love with Irene, only Irene is love shy. Her dead husband was a hero, who controlled her every move, even picked her cloths. After his death Irene had to learn to stand on her own feet, but in the process she blamed herself for allowing her late husband to make her a robot. Irene is afraid she will lose Murdock if she allows him in her life. But when she does lose him, she goes to out find if he is still willing to be her true hero.
