Hooray!!!!!

As usual Howard proves she in one of the premier authors of today. I was very satisfied with the content of the book and she keeps the suspense along with the romance constant. Anything Linda Howard writes is good. I have been reading her books since the first Silhoutte novel was published many years ago, and as I said, she just keeps getting better and better, right up there with Nora Roberts, Kay Hooper and others. At this point all I can say is; "Keep them coming."

Ice

Linda Howard's new novel Ice was good. I enjoyed it, however, it was way too short for me. Lolly Helton finds herself at her parents old house. Just informed of an ice storm brewing she needs to get off the mountain before she's stranded there. Unfortunately for her, there's two meth junkies with other plans. Gabriel McQueen is in from the military for a visit with his parents and son. His dad the town sheriff needs him to run out and check on Lolly before the storm gets going. It's too dangerous for her on the mountain. Lucky for Lolly he decides to head out to rescue her. Little does he know she's going to need more help from druggies than the ice storm. I pre-ordered this one before it came out and was disappointed to learn there was only 198 pages. It was good, fairly intense, a little repetitive but short. Just as soon as I started getting into it it ended. This is more like a short story than an actual novel.

A chilling saga of the struggle to survive against ruthless enemies

Ice: A Novel is the unabridged audiobook production of the harrowing suspense novel by award-winning author Linda Howard. On holiday leave from the service, Gabriel McQueen accedes to his sheriff father's request to check on a distant neighbor who has fallen out of contact. He travels to Lolly's home to find her in dire straits - strangers have invaded, and at least one of them is packing a weapon. It will take all his stealth training to extract Lolly from the house and for the two of them to survive as an ice storm descends upon the area. A chilling saga of the struggle to survive against ruthless enemies and intractable forces of nature, sure to keep listeners on the edge of their seat until the very end.

Very enjoyable

I have read all of Linda Howards books and of course I enjoyed some more than others. I think the book was short but the romance was nice and it was a nice evening read. I look forward to her next release.

Short but sweet

The book wasn't long but it grabs you quickly and keeps on going. It didn't need a whole lot of romance. What was there fit. It made me feel like Ms Howard had really lived thru one of those storms. The best book of hers was Son of the Morning which for some reason I can reread every so often.
