I Saw An Indian

By Howard Stewart

Book Overview

In the vast and untamed landscapes of Canada, a young boy's life is forever changed by a single encounter.

I Saw An Indian is a powerful and reflective story of discovery, cultural awareness, and the moments that shape how we see the world. Set against the breathtaking wilderness and rugged beauty of early Canada, the narrative follows a young settler who comes face-to-face with an Indigenous man an experience that challenges his assumptions, awakens curiosity, and plants the seed of understanding.

What begins as a moment of fear and uncertainty slowly becomes something deeper: a lesson in humanity, respect, and the unseen histories that surround us.

With vivid imagery, emotional honesty, and a timeless message. Howard Stewart invites readers into a journey that explores identity, connection, and the importance of seeing beyond first impressions.

This is more than a story about what was seen it is a story about what was learned.
