Great for my just-beginning reader and for my toddler

My pre-K son really likes this book. He loves to read the text that are in color (i.e. "red" is colored red). The book is also perfect for my almost-2-year-old daughter, who is just learning her colors. The primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) are taught and how they are mixed to become the secondary colors (orange, green, and purple). The pictures and story are amusing to both.

Great beginning reader

This is one of the best beginning readers I have ever found. I teach first grade and my kids adore this series about a silly dog and all his adventures. This book is a great introduction to color mixing as the dog dips himself into pots of paint. My kids particulrly enjoy the page where he shouts: "Watch out for Rainbow Dog!" and leaps into the wading pool with the baby. Kids will want to read this over and over again. The illustrations are hilarious.
