I Like You Just Because: Thoughts on Friendship

Although this book is classified as a young reader, it has meaning well beyond. Like many inspirational books, its simple thoughts are often more profound with age. It has been a source of joy and of comfort. Its message is timeless. A must read - must have - for both those who question, and for those who value, friendship.

This Nimeth Book is a classic--- just because.

I first read this book as a seventh grader. It was a time when friends were prime in my life. Their acceptance or rejection determined the rest of my day's mood. When everything I said and did and wore and ate had something to do with a friend. It was a time when I pledged loyalty to friends and gave my word with more severity and solemnity than I have ever summoned in my life. (or will ever summon in my life) This book helped me express what I was feeling towards these important people in my life. The gratitude and acceptance it encourages was so appropriate then as now. I came across a copy from the library and re-acquainted myself with the verses of the book. I find out that the verses are so alive that although I understand and see them differently now, I think it's wonderful that this book is universal enough to grow with anyone who reads it.
