I Hate Mondays, Book 1: Not My First Rodeo

By Leyna Warrior

Munday Oddly lives in Open Range, the most unusual place in the world. Nestled inside a picturesque valley and surrounded by towering mountains, Open Range is home to planet Arthen's strangest and most unusual phenomenon. From lizards that draw future events to fairies born from a boy's wish, Open Range has it all. And there is seemingly no reason for it.

In response, the Oddly family is asked to investigate the strange occurrences that are quickly dubbed 'oddities' by the townspeople. However, despite the family's best efforts, they've never been able to figure out the cause behind these strange oddities nor been able to put a stop to them.

After so long, the town of Open Range had grown to accept the oddities. Only the stubborn ranchers and farmers that are dutifully drawn to their land and their ways remain within its boundaries, refusing to give into the oddities. The Oddly family stands with them and Munday Oddly is more determined than ever to do her family proud. This is especially true once her famous and brave mother, Vanreesa Oddly, suddenly goes missing.

After leaving her family to chase after a lead that goes outside of Open Range's borders, all contact with Vanreesa suddenly comes to a halt. Munday is then left all alone to deal with Open Range's strange occurrences while her father is out desperately looking for her lost mother. To Munday's surprise, things are about to escalate inside Open Range, pushing Munday to her limits.

What happened to her mother? What secrets did she discover while she was away? What is causing the oddities and how can they be stopped?
