Perfect for the little chef.

This very user-friendly box of (wipe clean!!) cards feature recipes for breakfast, light & main meals, desserts and baking. There is a card that pictures each and every tool needed for all recipes with explanations of all tools/pans/utensils. There is a card with cooking "rules" that include the "golden rules" of cooking: safety, asking an adult for help, cleanliness, preparation (as in reading all directions before beginning), consistency in measuring etc. There is a card on the balance of protein, carbs, fiber, fats and vitamins/minerals. There's a glossary of cooking terms including cutting words, cooking words, mixing words, tips on bread-making, pastry-making, cake-making, handling eggs and other useful terms and such. Then the cards are divided using color-coded dividers and include basic recipes such as scrambled eggs to more complicated recipes (but still easy for kids) such as chicken curry. DK Publishing is famous for their bright colors, attractive photos and simple instructions. The cards are useful as well as beautiful. A wonderful purchase I'd suggest to anyone. My 6 year old son has always been a cooking fan and was delighted to receive this set of cards last Christmas. They have been well used at our house and I highly recommend them to any aspiring chef, young OR old. I even learned a thing or two myself.
