A girl and her father prepare their beach cottage for the coming hurricane, which topples their swing tree and washes away their stairs. Includes section of hurricane facts. This description may be from another edition of this product.
A month at the beach is interrupted by Hurricane Bob. A young girl and her father get busy: preparations are made; they ride out the storm; and clean up afterward. It is a very realistic and informative story with colorful illustrations. They stay at the beach because the house is on a high cliff, safe from waves. This would be poor behavior on the Gulf Coast where cliffs are lacking. Otherwise, it is a very good book. There is a very useful section at the back of the book about 'hurricane facts'.
