the best book i have seen on auto functionality

This is a great book if you want to understand the functionality of your car. The language is simple and explanations are lucid. Diagrams are just wonderful. I first picked up this book in the local public library as my car had some brake problem that I suspected and ended up buying it. It gave a great explanation of all kinds of brakes and braking systems. Although all new cars now use disk brakes the book starts with the shoe type brakes, for obvioues reason. Thus the only negative (if you feel that way) point of this book is that it is a old book and the current systems in the modern cars are sometimes listed as novelties. Nevertheless, I am yet to see a book of this caliber among the so called modern books, on the subject. Also it covers all the major systems of the modern car. However this is not a problem solution type book to solve the car problems that you face neither does it give much details on maintenance etc. so if you are looking for that kind of book you might look at a book titled "Car Smarts"
