How to Treat Hepatitis in Children: Simple Tips for Curing Hepatitis in Children

There is a hepatitis virus that can infect children and young adults. This virus can cause serious health problems, including liver failure. Hepatitis A is the most common cause of liver disease in children and young adults in the United States. There is a vaccine available to protect children against hepatitis A. However, all children must receive the vaccine, even if they have never been sick with the virus. If your child has recently traveled to an area where hepatitis A is expected, the vaccine may be more effective if given soon after their return. There is no specific treatment for hepatitis A, but most people recover without special care. However, if your child experiences the following symptoms, please see your doctor immediately: jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, or dark urine.
Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B: The Basics of the Virus
Hepatitis A and B viruses can cause serious liver problems in children. Hepatitis A is most common in developing countries but can also spread through contaminated water or food. Hepatitis B is more common in the United States but can also be spread through contact with infected blood or other body fluids. Most children who get hepatitis A don't have any symptoms. But about 1 in 20 children who get hepatitis A develop symptoms, including fever, tiredness, and vomiting. Some children with hepatitis A develop jaundice, a yellowing of the skin and eyes. Hepatitis B can cause serious liver problems, including liver cirrhosis (a condition in which the liver cannot function normally) and death.
