Excellent indoctrination into piloting and its jargon

This book was not only informative but fun to read. Gordon covers all the basics of piloting a light aircraft without assuming you know anything about it. Instead of throwing acronyms at you (e.g., VFR, IFR, etc.), he explains what they all mean. I had just decided I wanted to learn to fly, but I wasn't ready to take lessons. So I wanted to read as much as I could during this "down" time. I found that most aviation books assume the reader has some knowledge of flying terminology. Gordon explains everything in simple terms with humorous, real-life examples. I laughed as much as I learned. I cannot recommend this book enough for the person who thinks they might be interested in piloting a light aircraft. Perhaps that's why this book is subtitled: "For people who are not sure they want to." If you're already flying, you probably won't get as much out of this book, although the stories will still be fun.
